The Prime Minister vs. the Monarch

The authority of the Prime Minister even exceeding the power of the monarch of the country at times. According to the Canadian constitution, the queen is the head of the state that initially decides upon all significant issues, however; after Sir Pierre Elliot Trudeau brought home the constitution, these duties were reallocate more in the direction of the Prime Minister, making him/her the main leader of the country.
First of all, the Prime Minister of Canada is in charge of deciding upon major issues; for example, in the case of proroguing the parliament, the representative of the crown the governor general takes the advice of the Prime Minister and considers their choices. If the summon or dissolving of the parliament does take place based on the suggestion of the Prime Minister, it could actually be beneficial for the governing party as the leader has the choice of picking an election date when their party is the most sturdiest (Matheson, 1976, p. 133-134). The Governor General also consults the Cabinet ministers who are appointed by the Prime Minster through a process which could be considered biased towards the current government. The proxy for the Crown was the Prime Minister that indubitably passed all the power and authority of the head of the state to the leader of the government which was an enormous amount of pre-eminence.
