The Prime Minister and the Media

The unavoidable media involvement in the world of politics facilitates the Prime Minister in achieving their ambitions and having an exceeding amount of ascendancy. The reliability on the media has highly increased in the past several decades; the citizens of the world use some form of this medium to reconnect with their society. The political aspects of a nation have mainly taken over the local/national broadcasts making the Prime Ministers the focal point
In the book the Spoils of Powers, the authors states that the over exaggeration and extreme emphasis on the role and the duties of the leader provides them with even more power (Simpson, 1988, p.350-352). Heavy contribution of the media can overwhelm the Prime Minister; however, many times the media becomes useful to the political parties, for example, during the election time, the parties use the medium to sell their polices and make promises to lock the votes of the public. The media provides the Prime Minister more power than any other political figures by heavily emphasis on their role in the state and being mean for the governing party to convey their messages to the electoral (Richard, 2006, par.1)
